MEDIOR/SENIOR PHP DEVELOPER (SYMFONY) - EUROPEAN SECTOR - BRUSSELS CENTER

Functieomschrijving The Medior/Senior IT Developer primary responsibilities are to provide development services across a range of business system solutions and technologies as well as to guide and oversee the work of the development team.
The Medior/Senior IT Developer reports directly to the Head of Information Systems.
This position will involve:
-    Performing and documenting the analysis of business side requirements
-    Writing and processing solution specifications to design new application modules (big project)
-    Developing and maintaining applications and reporting systems / solutions, core database structures and technologies
-    Undertaking testing of system components, completing bug fixes and enhancements
-    Maintaining and complying with the documented quality standards and methods for development
-    Contributing to the training of end users
-    Guiding development projects ensuring communication with business representatives
-    Overseeing the work of the development team (including potential contractors)
-    Defining and running in a DevOps approach the hosting, deployment, release process and backup of the solutions developed internallyProfiel - University Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or at least 3 years of professional experience as IT developer on top of the required experience below.
-    At least 5 years of professional experience in IT development
-    High standard of spoken and written English, knowledge of other European languages appreciated
-    Knowledge of the European and national research structures and institutions is a plus
-    Strong professional experience in PHP / LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL) and associated technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, XML and HTML
-    Proven professional experience working with Symfony framework (version 4 preferred) 
-    Proven professional experience in implementing SQL database solutions
-    Proven professional experience in object-oriented programming, use of Git and continuous integration, application of design patterns, compliancy to given coding standards and implementation using industry best practices
-    Demonstrated professional experience in guiding the work of a development team
-    Experience working with Agile project team development environments is preferred
-    Experience with following frameworks / tools are a plus: Composer, Doctrine, Docker, Atlassian suite (JIRA, BitBucket, Bamboo), Amazon Web Services
-    Knowledge of other programming languages is a plus
-    Strong team work capacities and relationship building abilities
-    Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks and work well independently and collaboratively
